Caribbean village: Where female children grow penis at puberty

GIRLS in a remote Caribbean village are becoming boys when they hit puberty due to a rare genetic disorder. One in 90 children born in Salinas in the Dominican Republic grow a penis in a natural transformation from female to male. Known as the guevedoces, which translates as penis at 12, these youngsters are referred to in medical terms as “pseudohermaphrodite”.

It is so common to be a pseudohermaphrodite in Salinas that it is accepted as a third sex, alongside male and female. The phenomenon is explored in a new BBC2 series called Countdown to Life – the Extraordinary Making of You. Presenters meet Johnny, 24, who is physically and biologically male but was once known as Felicitia.

Policeman Beaten Up In Oyo State For Allegedly Causing Accident (Photos)

A police man was beaten up by people in Ogbomoso road in Oyo state this morning after the police vehicle he was riding in was accused of causing an accident in the area. The eye witness who spoke to www.metronaija.com said the police van was chasing a taxi for reasons he doesn't know and the taxi crashed into another car and into the bush and burst into flames. Photos: Governor Fayose distributes Sallah rams

A communique signed by the state’s Assistant Secretary, League of Imams and Alfas, Alhaji Quadri Oguntuase, and two others, had earlier ordered Muslims in the state not to collect rams and other food items for Sallah celebration, if presented to them in any form by the government.

However, the General Secretary of the League, Alhaji Abdulrazak Adenipekun, in a counter-statement ordered Muslims in the state to ignore the ban on Sallah’s gift.

Distributing the rams in Government House, Fayose said he won’t allow himself to be dragged into playing politics with religion in the State.

Kendall Jenner Reveals She Knew About Caitlyn Jenner Since She Was A Kid

The whole world went on a journey with Bruce Jenner this year as he transitioned to Caitlyn Jenner. We already know that his step-daughter Kim Kardashian discovered his secret years ago — but now daughter Kendall Jenner is revealing that she has known about Caitlyn since she was young.

While in New York City for Fashion Week (where Kendall looked absolutely stunning on every runway she strutted down), she told WWD, “It would probably be different for someone who didn’t have to live it through the media. Trust me, it’s… difficult for me to have to wait forever for my natural hair to grow back and to have to wear more fake hair than every drag queen on earth combined.”

Rick Ross & Affiliate Sued For Allegedly Raping A Woman

Rick Ross' camp is facing a lawsuit from a woman who claims she was raped by his affiliate.

Rick Ross has had to dance around the conversation of rape in the past, when his lyrics on an "U.O.E.N.O." remix seemingly promoted date rape, and even lost him his deal with Reebok. Unfortunately, it looks like the heavy topic is coming back into play, as Rozay is being named in a rape lawsuit.

According to TMZ, a 'Jane Doe' as she's being referred to in the lawsuit, claims that she met up with Rick Ross and his entourage at the W hotel in L.A. over Grammy weekend. They were headed to the Canibus Cup. They headed to the marijuana convention in a van-- the woman claims Ross was in the van, as Thaddeus "Black" James, a DJ, 3 security guards and the driver. She was handed a drink, which she drank, and after starting to feel dizzy she passed out.

Ex-SGF, Falae abducted on birthday

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF and chieftain of Afenifere, Chief Samuel Oluyemisi Falae, yesterday received the shock of his life on his 77th birthday as gunmen numbering over 20 invaded his farm in Ilado village, Akure North area of Ondo state and abducted him.

He was picked at about 1pm and by 3.20pm, the abductors have demanded for N100m as ransom before the septuagenarian could be freed.
The police authourities however said it was a case of attack rather than kidnap.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wole Ogodo, said in Akure that Falae was attacked yesterday morning and taken away.
He said that contrary to earlier reports, “It wasn’t a case of kidnap but an attack by Fulani herdsmen.”
The police spokesman said Falae, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, was taken away while some of his workers were seriously wounded.
Ogodo said no fewer than 50 policemen had been deployed to the area to search for him.
However, a source in the family, who preferred anonymity, said that the kidnappers had called to ask for N100 million as ransom.
Governor  Olusegun Mimiko was said to have summoned an emergency Security Council meeting on the matter.
Born on September 21, 1938, the former Finance minister, who is also national chairman, Social Democratic Party, SDP was kidnapped by over 20 Fulani herdsmen who invaded his farm, attacking  his over 200 workers.
Many of his workers, including the farm manager simply identified as Bruno were matcheted while others were reportedly wounded and are on admission in different hospitals.

Buhari Commiserates With Itsekiri On Passage Of Olu Of Warri

President Muhammadu Buhari, has commiserated with the Itsekiri people of Delta State on the passage of their revered monarch, Ogiame Atuwatse II, the Olu of Warri.
In a statement issued in Abuja, yesterday, by the Special Adviser to the President, Mr. Femi Adesina, Buhari conveyed his personal condolences to the Olu’s immediate family and relations as well as friends and associates of the highly respected monarch.
He said the deceased, whose transition was formally announced at the weekend, would be greatly missed by the Itsekiris people of Delta and all Nigerians.
The President urged members of the late Olu’s family and the Itsekiris people, to be comforted by the knowledge that Ogiame Atuwatse II, would be remembered as a peace-loving monarch, who did his best to foster the harmonious co-existence of his people with other ethnic groups in Nigeria.
Buhari noted that the late Olu would also be honoured by present and future generations as a most worthy custodian of the rich cultural heritage of the Itsekiris.
According to him, the deceased would also be remembered for the commendable wisdom, sagacity and benevolence which he exhibited in his 28 years reign over the Itsekiri nation.
The statement added that as they “begin the three-month mourning period for their departed traditional ruler, the president prayed that God Almighty would receive the late Olu’s soul and grant him eternal rest.”
