Selena Gomez Hasn’t Given Up on Justin Bieber!

Okay, I don’t know about you but I just assumed that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez no longer spoke after they broke up last year. Out with the old, right?

But Sel is on the cover of Elle and dropped quite the bombshell — she still spends time with Biebs. Granted it’s with mutual friends but she hasn’t totally closed the door on a reconciliation. Ughhhhh.

When asked if they would get back together, she admitted, “I don’t know.” But Selena went on to say, “Genuinely, I’ll forever support him and love him in a way that…We grew up together. I think people want it to be different. We’re too young for that. Nobody was married. There was no…I respect him. And I think he respects me, in a healthy manner.”

Selena also revealed to Elle that she’s dating other people but not looking for anything serious because, “I’ve already done that.” And here’s another shocker — her new single “Same Old Love” is NOT about Justin. But, “The Heart Wants What It Wants” WAS meant for Justin and when she broke down crying while performing it at the American Music Awards last year it was a release. Selena said: “Everybody was talking about the same thing: my relationship. I was so exhausted. I said, ‘I want this [performance] to be the last time I have to talk about this. And acknowledge this feeling.’ It was a huge weight lifted off me. That’s why, from this point on, I know I can prove myself, you know. I haven’t scratched the surface yet.”

It sounds like Selena is in a really good place. SG, keep embracing that independence!
